CloudTing's AWS Practice
Boutique consulting specialized in Amazon Web Services. We design, migrate and operate production infrastructure on AWS for companies in Colombia and Latin America, with the same certified team doing the work and no subcontracting.
- Direct delivery by the certified team
- Verifiable AWS certifications
- Colombia and Latin America, remote
How we work on AWS
CloudTing is a boutique AWS consulting firm based in Ibagué, Tolima, Colombia, working on Amazon Web Services for companies in Colombia and the rest of Latin America.
The model is direct delivery: the same certified team that designs the architecture implements and operates it. There is no subcontracting and no handoff between a team that sells and a team that delivers.
No subcontracting
Whoever designs the architecture is who implements it and keeps it running in production.
Relationship with AWS
Member of the AWS Partner Network at the Registered tier, with the partner program's technical and sales accreditations.
Where we work
Based in Ibagué, Colombia. Remote work across Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile and the rest of Latin America.
Capabilities on AWS
Amazon Web Services we work with in production environments, grouped by the problem they solve.
Migration to AWS
- AWS Application Migration Service for rehost migrations: it replicates the server at block level while it keeps running, so the cutover is a restart inside the agreed window instead of a long outage
- AWS Database Migration Service for MySQL and PostgreSQL: continuous replication (CDC) keeps the source live until the final cutover, so downtime is measured in minutes, not hours
- Validation in a test environment before cutover, to find the undocumented dependencies where surprises usually hide
- Deployment in a high-availability configuration, spreading load across zones so one failing zone does not stop the service
- Amazon AppStream 2.0 when remote access to a production environment is needed: it streams the application, so the environment is not exposed on the user’s device
Cost optimization (FinOps)
- A baseline of spend by service and by team: without knowing where the money goes, any cut is made blind
- Finding underused resources and rightsizing them, which is usually where savings come without operational impact
- Savings Plans and Reserved Instances recommended on measured usage, not projected usage: committing for a year on assumed data swaps one cost problem for another
- Budget deviation alerts, so you find out during the month and not when the invoice arrives
Architecture and security
- Segmented architectures on Amazon Virtual Private Cloud: Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud instances live in private subnets with no public IP, and Elastic Load Balancing is the only exposed component, so the attack surface shrinks to one point instead of the whole environment
- AWS WAF with filtering rules that act at the edge and drop malicious traffic before it reaches the application
- AWS Identity and Access Management with least privilege to define who can do what, and AWS CloudTrail to record who did what: the first prevents, the second is what an audit asks for
- Administrative access with AWS Systems Manager Session Manager: console access without opening port 22 to the internet or maintaining a bastion host that needs patching
- Hardening of Linux and Windows Server operating systems, because a correct architecture does not make up for an operating system left on factory settings
Operations and continuity
- Administration of production infrastructure in continuous operation
- AWS Backup to centralize backup and retention policies for several services in one place, instead of loose per-resource rules nobody remembers creating
- Regular checks that backups actually run: having backups and being able to recover are not the same, and the difference shows up on the day of the incident
- Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting: it brings metrics and logs from AWS services together, so an alarm can fire on a numeric threshold or on a log pattern without wiring two different tools
- Documented runbooks, so the client’s team can act without depending on a phone call
Infrastructure as code and automation
- Reproducible provisioning with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation: what slows a recovery most is not restoring data but rebuilding the environment, and having it described in code turns hours of manual work into one run
- Automation with Python (boto3), Bash and PowerShell for the repetitive tasks where human error piles up
- Immutable infrastructure and continuous integration and delivery pipelines, so a change can be rolled back instead of fixed live
Situations we solve
The scenarios most companies bring when they contact us, and what we do in each one.
AWS costs growing out of control
We identify waste, prioritize quick wins, and structure spending to align with business logic.
AWS migration without slowing operations
We design a realistic migration path to reduce risks, downtime, and rework during the transition.
Disorganized security and IAM
We strengthen access controls and guardrails to reduce risk without making environments unmanageable.
Weak backups and disaster recovery
We review backups, RTO, and RPO so your environment is ready for failures, errors, or ransomware.
Operations dependent on one person
We document, stabilize, and support operations to reduce dependency and improve continuity.
Incidents without monitoring or traceability
We implement observability, triage, and escalation rules to respond better and learn from each event.
Team and certifications
AWS credentials are issued to people, not companies. These belong to the team that does the work, and each one links to its public verification on Credly, the official system AWS uses to issue credentials.

Frequently asked questions
What companies usually ask when they evaluate working with an AWS partner.
What AWS partner tier is CloudTing?
CloudTing is an AWS Partner at the Registered tier, the entry level of the AWS Partner Network. We are not Advanced or Premier, and we would rather say so before you ask. What we can prove are the team’s certifications, each one verifiable on Credly.
Can I check the certifications myself?
Yes, that is the point. Every credential on this page links to its public page on Credly, the official system AWS uses to issue credentials. You do not have to take our word for it.
Do you hold an AWS Competency?
No. Competencies are a separate program that requires customer cases validated by AWS and a volume we do not have yet. If a provider claims one, you can ask for the link to the official AWS directory to check it.
Who does the work?
The certified team shown on this page. The same people who design the architecture implement and operate it, with no subcontracting and no handoff between a team that sells and a team that delivers.
Do you work with companies outside Ibagué?
Yes. Our office is in Ibagué, Tolima, and we work remotely across Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile and the rest of Latin America. Work on AWS does not require being on site.
Do you do penetration testing or compliance audits?
We are not a penetration testing firm and we do not issue compliance certifications. We can align controls with frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2, but formal certification always requires an independent external auditor.
